MELBOURNE, August 21, 2008 – 2XU sponsored Adventure Racer, Jarad Kohlar has once again proven one of Australia’s top multisport athletes, taking first place at this year’s Go Natural Multisport in Sydney on August 18. Kohlar’s win came only a week after his equally impressive second place performance at the Anaconda Adventure Race on August 10. The first Australian over the line at the grueling Gold Coast annual challenge, Kohlar posted an impressive time of 4 hours, 10 minutes and 10 seconds.

Kohlar has now won the Go Natural Multisport competition for four years running, however this year’s win did not come easy, with a strong fight from Max Adventure regular and Kathmandu Royal champion, Kris Plain.

Go Natural Multisport involves a 55km challenge (32km road bike, 12km flat water paddle and 12km trail run), while the Anaconda Adventure Race involves a four stage competition (1.9km swim, 13km kayak, 12.5km adventure run and 18km mountain bike).

Kohlar is a proud 2XU devotee; gearing up in the brand’s leading high performance apparel throughout his rigorous training sessions and ongoing punishing competitions. 2XU garments provide him with the support, reliability and performance edge he requires to achieve such impressive August results.

Australian Eights’ strike double gold

The Australian Women’s and Men’s Eight have won gold medals at the first rowing World Cup in Munich, Germany.

In an exceptional performance the Women’s Eight crossed the line in a time of 6:36.29 to lead home the Chinese by two boat lengths, while Romania won the bronze medal.

In calmer conditions than the first three days, China led Australia by just under a second at the halfway mark before Australia lifted their rate to charge to the line over the last 750 metres.

Sarah Tait, captain of the Women’s Eight, says that the crew was forced to change their race plan after a tricky start.

“We got caught in a bit of dirty water at the start of the race which put us further back than we wanted”, Tait said. “We wanted to build a lead from the start but we changed our plan which shows the great versatility of the group.”
